Pittacum heeft 8 maanden gerijpt op Frans en Amerikaans eiken. 
Pittacum is een smakelijke 100 % Mencia wijn. Rijp fruit, een vleugje kruiden, hout tonen, balsamico en een lange intense afdronk.
Uitstekende combinatie met rood en wit vlees, gevogelt, pasta en kaas. 
Goed op dronk, maar kan zich tot 2022 nog verder ontwikkelen.
De optimale drinktemperatuur voor Pittacum is 17°C.

"The 2016 Pittacum is a Mencía from different vineyards in Bierzo and matured in oak barrel for eight months. It has a leafy and herbal character, with wild berries, herbs and a spicy twist. It also has quite a lot of tannin and still needs some time in bottle or powerful food. I found it a little hard. 90,000 bottles produced.

Unfortunately, I found the Pittacum portfolio dominated by oak aromas and flavors. I have no doubt there is a public for this wine, but I find it very difficult to recommend them."
