Enate Chardonnay Fermentado en Barrica is een wijn uit Somontano
De Enate Chardonnay Fermentado en Barrica heeft 6 tot 8 maanden gerijpt op nieuw Frans eikenhout. Dit resulteerd in een volle witte wijn met een aangenaam romig karakter. Aroma's van toast, hazelnoot, tropisch fruit en een hint van rook.
Uitstekend inzetbaar bij (vette) vis, schaal- en schelpdieren, wit vlees, romige kazen en gerechten met romige sauzen. De optimale serveertemperatuur voor deze wijn is 12°C.
Tasting Notes Enate:
A lovely tawny yellow colour with a light green tint. A complex bouquet which combines varietal qualities (hazelnut, toasted bread) with tropical fruits (pineapple, grapefruit) and the smoky tones imparted by the oak casks. Full and creamy on the palate, well developed and with fresh acidity which leads to an extraordinary finish, long and balanced, accentuated by toasty notes.

I tasted the current Chardonnay Fermentado en Barrica, a very toasty and smoky example with notes of nuts and charred wood. The fruit was ripe and the wine reached 14.5% alcohol, possibly what made it feel sweet in the finish. It feels very oaky and commercial in the style of the turn of the century. It matured in new French oak barrels for seven months. "
